Life's Ripples from Broad Ripple United Methodist Church by Rev. Timothy Rasmussen

Recently I wrote an article about the winter weather, proving that Indiana can have interesting weather patterns over a very short time frame. Going from sixteen inches of snow to eighty degrees in a couple of weeks is pretty extreme; however, it's one more thing that reminds me that God is still in charge and that His creation is amazing.
Once, while in Montana, I witnessed a Wednesday storm of fifty below with a wind chill of seventy below and twenty two inches of snow. The following Friday the Chinooks started, and the temperature climbed to fifty above. It was fascinating to watch the snow melt because it just evaporated right before your eyes. All our technology cannot create anything as extreme or curious as the weather. We humans can only stand in awe when we witness such marvels.
All weather fascinates me, but Spring is absolutely my favorite time of year. Watching the trees bloom and the flowers sprout is incredible. The joy of listening to the birds as they return and watching everything come to life on a clear blue sunny day can bring tears to my eyes.
The joy of sharing in God's creation is so powerful, yet many of us pass by never seeing it. God has bestowed many wonderful gifts in this physical world for us to enjoy. Take a walk this Spring and see for yourself the beautiful gifts waiting in store for you.
