Build a Bar
The snow this week canceled my night out, so I had to resort to creating my own bar. I cannot think of a better place to have a drink than the warmth, comfort, and safety of my home. Furthermore, you don't have to get all gussied up ...."at home" drinking, where sweat pants is the norm. I gathered with my accomplice, Asa, grabbed whatever available liquor was in the freezer, some mixer in the fridge, and a splash of garnish. We put on Sublime's "40 oz. to Freedom", but then agreed that drinking 40 oz. was not cool unless otherwise at some sort of theme party.
So the concoction we created goes like this: throw in some rum (no measurement required; we used Mt. Gay Rum, it was made with sugar cane ), lots of ice, mix with Red Bull, cut fresh lemon, and add preferred amount. I gave both our glasses a nice shake and stir, the end result being deemed "Wicked Ice Tea" (however, Asa does not like tea - she liked the drink). The point is to use whatever you have on hand at home. So we had a nice drinks, with all the right music, swell company, without leaving home. Maybe I'll never go out again, at least until Pint Night.
