As I write this, it is February 1, 2007 and the city of Indianapolis has descended into Colts madness. I cannot believe in my lifetime I am actually going to see the Colts go to the Super Bowl. It is amazing and so is the feel around town. All you have to do is simply say, "Go Colts" in any public place and I guarantee someone else will respond by cheering right back. The Colts going to the Super Bowl has unified Naptown in a beautiful way.

So yes, I like football and I love the Colts, so for the game against the Patriots I was surprised that I was not in a Broad Ripple bar! No, I took a field trip to a bar called Bubbaz Bar & Grill located at 5220 E. Southport. I met some friends there and was surprised to see wall-to-wall plasmas and tons of Colts fans. Bubbaz's has, not only plenty o'plasmas, but also pool tables, cheap drinks and delectable pizzas. It's a great place to watch a game. They also allow smoking, which can be rare these days (although I am a non-smoker). A server quickly greeted my table and announced the beer special: pitchers for $6, not too shabby.

Although there was not Blue Moon or Fat Tire on tap, you simply cannot beat a $6 dollar pitcher, unless it's a $5 dollar pitcher. After hearing our choices (mainly the lights: Bud Light, Miller Light, and Coors Light) I went with Coors Light, just trying to show some love for Golden, Colorado (my former place of residence and home of Coors). People think I'm strange when I say this, but Coors tastes like Banana Runts to me...anyone else agree? Maybe it's just me; yea it's probably just me.

I had a great time at Bubbaz, or maybe it was the six Cherry Bomb shots. Now I'm not a lush or a "party girl", but come on - the Colts beat the Patriots and we're going to the Super Bowl. A girl has to live a little! So if you're looking for a good joint to watch a game check out Bubbaz. It's off the beaten Broad Ripple path but just as good. I'm giving Bubbaz 3 out of 5 Pints.
