Poetic Thoughts - 3:AM MEDITATION - by C.W. Pruitt II
posted: Dec. 01, 2006
Tormented beyond comprehension by 2,000 demons, the man of the Gadarenes knew hell on Earth. The locals would chain him into caves which served as graves, but he would break the chains and terrify the townspeople. In an awesome display of God's power and mercy, Jesus sent the demons into a herd of pigs which ran down a hill and drowned in a lake. On a bittersweet note, the townspeople arrived on the scene and begged Jesus to leave. They were afraid of his power.
My dear friend Richard B. Jones sent me this poem while he was on his honeymoon. It tells a very sweet redemption song.
3:AM MEDITATION
ON THE MAN OF THE GADARENES
(Luke 8:26 ff.)
Left over
Left out
Out in Left field
In the grips of a sad that seizes
Left for dead
And Left behind
With a legion of diseases
Till I Left the storm
For the safe & warm
Let the crowd do as it pleases
I'm clothed...
In my RIGHT mind
And seated at the feet of Jesus
