Java Jolt BBQ Ribs
With summer coming to an end, let's send it off in style with a great grill recipe. This coffee-based barbeque sauce is sure to give your grub get-up-and-go!
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs pork back ribs
1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce
1/2 cup fresh brewed coffee
1 T chili powder
1/2 cup ketchup
1 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T honey
1 tsp garlic powder
2 T lemon juice
1 tsp paprika
2 T Dijon mustard
Preparation
Place the ribs in a large pan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, partially cover, and simmer gently until tender (about 1 hour). Remove ribs from water and set aside.
In a medium size pan, over moderate heat, add all of the sauce ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil, then simmer for10 minutes. Stir sauce occasionally, it will thicken slightly.
Heat your grill to medium heat. Brush the sauce onto the ribs while turning. Continue brushing and turning ribs until they are heated thoroughly and are richly glazed (about 10 minutes). Remove ribs from grill. Serve and, most importantly, enjoy!
