The annual reunion of the Broad Ripple High School classes of the 1930's and early 40's met at the Riviera Club on Sunday, June 4, 2006. About 50 people attended the gathering, which included a lunch buffet prepared by American Pie Catering, a division of Hoaglin Fine Catering.

The earliest class in attendance was represented by Morris Conly, 1934, who was sporting an orange BRHS Track & Field t-shirt. The youngest classmates were Suzanne Reeder Talbott and Mary Jane Coleman Meeker, both from the class of 1944. Norma Hadley, class of '43, came from Corpus Christy, Texas, and Ned Fairman, class of '42, came up from Naples, Florida. A few others also came from out of state. Pat Pickett, class of 1936, travelled the shortest distance to get to the reunion. Members of the class of '41 wrote messages on a Rivi placemat which was sent to classmate Bob Maxwell.

Bill Earle (Rippleite of Distinction in Gazette Volume 1 Numbers 11-13) signed the placemat for classmate Bob Maxwell.

Everyone enjoyed themselves, and many commented on how good the food was. Rivi board member and BRHS class of 1940 alumni Joe Talbott told his classmate about the renovations going on at Rivi. Gazette editor Alan Hague read letters from some of the alumni that were unable to attend this year, but wanted to wish everyone well. A special history edition of the Village Sampler (courtesy of the Broad Ripple Village Association) and several past issues of the Gazette, including the issue on the rededication of BRHS, were given to the attendees.
Next year's reunion will be held on the first Sunday in June. If you know of anyone who should be on the guest list, please share their address with someone at the Gazette. info@brhsalumni.org
