May BRVA Zoning Meeting
posted: Jun. 02, 2006
The May Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) zoning committee meeting was held on the 23rd at Broad Ripple United Methodist church. There were four items on the agenda. The first was by Brian Hayman for the property located at 1035 Broad Ripple Avenue. This had been Milano's Sunny's Pizza. Brian is opening a Biscuits restaurant in that location. He currently owns the Biscuits at 137th and Meridian Street. Biscuits will file a petition to request for a zoning variance to establish outdoor seating on a deck. The opening date is planned for June 5th.
The second presentation was by Matt and Candice Akers for property located at 6336 Guilford Avenue. This location had been Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. Matt and Candice are opening a Dagwood's Deli and Sub Shop in the corner spot. There are currently two Dagwood's in Bloomington, Indiana. Since there is technically no parking directly associated with this address, a parking variance will be needed.
The third presenters were Conrad Cortellini and Van Kirby for property located at 6310 College Avenue. Van owns the property and currently has his hair salon, Van and Dan's Cuts, in that house. Van has filed to establish a four-story building to replace the existing house. Retail/commercial is planned for the ground floor, with residential in the upper floors.
The last presentation was by George Dury for property located at 6120 College Avenue. This is the house directly south of Broad Ripple State Farm. Premiere Hair Salon is planning to move into this house. The zoning variance is to establish a beauty salon in the house and for a yard sign.
The next meeting of zoning committee will be Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at 5:30 P.M. at the church. The public is welcome to attend.
