Life's Ripples from Broad Ripple United Methodist Church by Rev. Timothy Rasmussen

A few years ago the group Chicago had a song that asked the question "Does anyone really know what time it is?" I was thinking of that during all the debate over daylight savings time, but rest assured this is not going to be a political article. Does it even matter what time it is? I can call someone in a different time zone and even though they may be several hours ahead or behind, the voices communicate in the immediate, with no delay.
All our crazy time frames, or better yet all our stuff, make no difference to God. Contrary to the popular bumper sticker, the one who dies with the most toys does not win. You are still dead and the toys will do you no good. What people will remember is how you treated them, and what your relationship with them was like. After all, isn't that the true measure of a person?
Time belongs to God, as does everything else in all of creation, and our relationship with God is the most important aspect of life - not time. With God, time does not exist. There is no beginning or end, just the eternal.
So whatever time we will have in Indiana, it does not matter to me. After all, I'm still in God's time.
