Random Rippling - Spring Gallery Tour showcases shops and artists in the Village
posted: May 27, 2004
The occasional rain Friday evening did not seem to slow down the bi-annual Broad Ripple Village Gallery Tour, presented by the Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA). The stops along the tour were were filled with attendees enjoying the food and art and the chance to meet many of our local artists, like Randall Scott Hardens with his scenes from Broad Ripple featured at Sigman's.
The 2004 Spring Tour included The Indianapolis Art Center and Basile Gallery Gift Shop, C3 Cultural Complex Consortium, Happy Trails Studio, The Bungalow, Turandot, Artifacts, Sigman's Gallery, Animatopia, Haus, Miss Zula's, Portico, Ruth D. Stoner Artistry in Clay, The Blue Door, Hoosier Salon, and Editions Limited Gallery of Fine Arts.
Each stop on the tour offered refreshments that ranged from brownies and cheeses to kettle corn and wasabi dips. We were glad to see many of the shops served soft drinks this year, in addition to the many varieties of wines.
As always, this is a 'not to be missed' event. We saw friends and neighbors all along the tour, made some new friends and even picked up a few history tidbits that will be passed on in a future issue of the Gazette. It is a great, informal evening to browse those shops that you always wanted to go to, or to revisit a favorite.
The Fall Gallery Tour will be Friday, September 17, 2004, from 6pm to 10pm. There is no charge to attend.
