A Poem From Paris
My friend John Stulgate sent me many things when he lived in Paris, France. One of my favorites is the poem below. Loss was written in the middle of the night after fitfull dreaming.

Loss

That cold wind
blew across my heart
and your form turned away
through each dream
unattainable and ice
with a white whisper
from an ancient and long-gone time
so absolute
that I could not fear
only know that an end had happened
and the mourners long dead
a dead leaf across their grave
