Poetic Thoughts header

Some artists continually gush forth art. I am not one of them. Ideas for me float and fade. Patience is thrust upon me. When the trial ends, I am rewarded. Gratitude ease the transition to more waiting. The cycle presses on.

Poems Passing Thru

i wait
wait
wait
until the poems come to me
until the poems go though me-
i try to remember them
in their passage
in brief moments of ecstasy
the poems
make it to page
and i am grateful
that they chose me
to pass through-
i must savor them
for it may require
great stretches
of waiting
until i am used
as a poetic vessel
again
