Poetic Thoughts - The Muse - by C.W. Pruitt II
posted: Jul. 21, 2022

Poetic Thoughts header

In 2003 thirteen-year old Alexa Andrews received a single rose from her father after a choir performance. It was her first flower. She adored the rose and wrote a poem about it.
Alexa's brilliance as a poet is not without foundation. Her father and grandmother are both published poets.

The Muse

The beauty of this rose I see
Even midst its death
Ever wilting, some softening
Up until its last breath
delicate, all day now
locked in vase, Dead
But sustaining Allure goes on
The muse in my head

A. Andrews
