2 Seam Poems
The two poems below contain the word "seam". One I wrote in 2006, the other I wrote while staying up all night for the 2008 election coverage. I saw the two poems side-by-side and they "seemed" to go together.
looking for a seam
in which to bust out
of the mundane form
which has been assumed
over time, repetition,
and resignation -
like better prospects
are not deserved
the seam is always there
everpresent
in front
though
often unperceived
until a little
dreaming
ensues

weaving a seam
in a scorched dream
from what has gone wrong
a sweet newer song
