Finding The Groove

Anxiety can get in our way. At least it gets in my way. My bipolar disorder can make my anxiety paralyzing.
Writing this column can be challenging. The harder I think about it, the harder it is to write. But when I let it go, it finally starts to flow.
The two past poems below I wrote about rediscovering the flow:

attempting an effort
trying to do something
trying to do anything
forgetting about the groove
forgetting that a groove
existed at all.
pushing against a boulder
as if it would move
as if my will
were strong enough
though i have
lived long enough
to know the joy
and the magic
of the groove
