The Wine Scene: Splash Park for 21+ - by Jill A. Ditmire

Splash Park for 21+
Summer is here and as cities, businesses and people adjust to the "new normal" when it comes to enjoying the season, it's good to know two of Indiana's oldest and most trusted wineries have new, safe and tasty ways to indulge.
While the under 21 set can seek solace from summer heat in local pools, adults need their own way to kick back and relax.
Indianapolis-based Easley Winery ups its Reggae series with a double whammy of summer fun - Black Cherry and Blueberry Splashscato. Easley's softy sweet white moscato gets a snappy summer kick with real fruit juice. Serve on the rocks, or better yet, USE frozen fruit as the rocks and create your own signature summer sangria. Alcohol levels are low enough to pour into ice cube trays and freeze to make a soft Splashscato Slush. Splashscato is only available in stores but the regular line up of easy drinking dry, off dry, and sweet wines can still be ordered for curbside pick up at the downtown winery. www.easleywinery.com

Bloomington-based Oliver Winery is rolling out a new label for its world famous "soft wine" series.
Same softly sweet wine inside but a more sophisticated, and straight forward label identifying each as Sweet Red, Sweet White, Sweet Blush and Sweet Red Lime, which is also a new flavor infusing tart lime to the flagship lip smacking concord grape juice.
Oliver is opening parts of its tasting room by offering "scheduled" tastings for groups of four or less. Information and scheduling can be done on line at www.oliverwinery.com

In California wine country, it's closing time... again. After being open for several weeks, the state has ordered Napa and Sonoma counties to close tasting rooms. Outdoor service, curbside pickup and delivery still available.
