Frog's Random Rippling - Peaceful protest on the Ave
posted: Jun. 04, 2020
As my wife and I were sitting in beautiful weather and enjoying a late lunch at Kilroy's in B'Rip, I noticed all at once a group of people started showing up. They were walking down Broad Ripple Avenue and they all grouped together in front of Huntington Bank. I wondered if there would be trouble, only because of the past few nights in Indy. However, once again I was made aware of, and pleasantly so by, the Village around me. I saw not one Police Officer. I noticed not one Media person (except me) and as for the violence, vandalism, etc....(CRICKETS). There were a few speakers then the group knelt on the pavement for nine minutes of silence - representing the time that a policeman knelt on George Floyd's neck in Minneapolis. Not one iota of negativity. Again I'm proud to be a Broad Ripple Villager!
Thanks also to Bob Marks for sending in a picture of the demonstration.
