The hospitality and arts communities both took a HUGE financial hit when the COVID 19 crisis closed restaurants and cancelled thousands of current and future events, performances, classes and shows.

The BRVA has established a relief fund of sorts to support local businesses stating, "We are committed to supporting our Broad Ripple community during this difficult time. Indianapolis creatives are doing what they can by offering products, art, and music for purchase on line.

The Arts Council of Indianapolis and a number of community funders have established a rapid relief fund to help those whose incomes and livelihoods have essentially been shut down. A number of the studio artists at the Harrison Center are creating a COVID 19 inspired art window walk. You can stay in your car, or keep a 6 foot distance between others as you take in the paintings, collages, and sculptures in the building's lower level windows visible at 16th and Delaware streets.

Johnny McKee curated the Ashland Gallery in Broad Ripple and is now at the Harrison Center. His window adds a 21st century touch to historic outbreaks. He takes a Rembrandt portrait created during the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic and puts a highly coveted medical mask on the subject. www.harrisoncenter.org
