Broad Ripple

Ordinance No. 11

An Ordinance granting the new Telephone Co. of Indpolis State of Indiana, the right to Erect and maintain its poles and lines in the Town of Broad Ripple, Marion County, State of Indiana on Conditions Therein Provided.

Sec 1. Be it Ordained by the Town Trustees of the Town of Broad Ripple, Indiana, that the right is hereby granted to The New Telephone Company, its Successors and Assigns, for the period of Twenty Five Years to use the Streets, alleys and public Highways of Said Town as far as may be necessary to enable the Said Company to furnish to the Citizens of Said Town and the public facilities for Communication by Telephone or other Electrical Signals. But the particular Streets, alleys and Highways to be used by Said Company for that purpose shall be Such and such only as the Board of Trustees of Said Town may Designate when the said Company is ready to Construct its lines and the Said Company shall have the right upon the Streets, Alleys and Highways thus designated by the Said Board to erect, and maintain the Necessary Poles, Wires, fixtures & equipment such use to be and Continue upon the terms and Conditions herein stated.

Sec. 2 Said poles and wires shall be placed and maintained so as not to interfear with travel on Said Highways & and Said Company shall hold Said Town harmless and free from all Danger Ariseing by reason of any abuse or Negligence in such occupancys and this grant is made and is to be enjoyed subject to all reasonable regulations or Ordinance of a police nature as said Trustees may be authorized and see proper at any time to adopt ___ destruction of the rights herein granted.
